The movie is being produced by Karan Johar and includes Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles. While earlier the filmmaker had decided to keep the track devoid of a female star, he made up his mind to cast Esha at the last moment. If sources are to be believed, Malhotra had earlier planned that the song sequence would focus only on Imran and had thus not cast any actress for it however it did not look promising in the absence of a female character and it was thus decided to rope in an actress in the video.
Rumor has it that prior to offering the item number to Esha, the filmmaker had approached Nargis Fakhri for the same. Yes! Nargis Fakhri was his first choice and Malhotra was quite keen on casting her for the sequence however she refused his offer claiming to be busy with the shooting of her upcoming Madras Cafe. Apparently, that didn’t disappoint him much. Malhotra, who had been quite impressed with Esha Gupta’s screen presence in her debut movie, soon made up his mind to sign her for the dance number. He discussed the matter with Karan Johar and the lady was taken on board in no time.
Esha, on her part was reportedly quite glad to receive the offer and grabbed it instantly. She then rushed to Banglore in order to shoot for the item number, which is actually her first.
Well, Esha Gupta, who managed to make several heads turn with her dance moves in Jannat 2 and Raaz 3, is all set to rock the audience with an item number!
