Beyoncé's dad is celebrating his granddaughter Blue Ivy's eighth birthday!

Mathew Knowles took to Instagram on Tuesday to share an adorable new photo of Blue Ivy in honor of her special day.

The pic — which the proud grandpa jazzed up with animated effects — finds Blue Ivy looking school-ready in a bright orange top over a grey skirt with a cute cherry pattern. The little girl wears her hair long and straight and sports a backpack over her shoulders.

"Happy Birthday to my beautiful and oldest granddaughter Blue Ivy ... Love, ⁣⁣⁣⁣Papa G," Knowles wrote.

Beyoncé and hubby Jay-Z welcomed Blue Ivy in 2012. The couple are also parents to 2-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir.

While Blue Ivy's recently started stepping out to events with her parents, her mom rarely shares photos of Blue Ivy's younger siblings.

But fans were in for a treat last week when Beyoncé posted a year-in-review video on Instagram, which included a gorgeous portrait of the whole family decked out to the nines.

In the pic, little Sir sits on his dad's lap wearing a matching tuxedo, while Beyoncé, Blue Ivy and Rumi look glamorous in white dresses.

Rumi and Sir also make an appearance around the 52-second mark in the video. The smiling twins are seen posing for a snap on their second birthday back in June. You can also see Sir toddling his way around the party in another blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment.

And now the family is celebrating another special day. Happy birthday, Blue Ivy!

Beyoncé and Jay-Z took their daughter Blue Ivy to the Super Bowl on Sunday, and she certainly looked the part! The eight-year-old – who has her own stylist – was dressed in a Molo leather jacket, teamed with a red tulle top, which was custom-made by designer Caasi Sera Couture, and a pair of studded Balmain boots. Blue's stylist, Manuel A. Mendez, shared a photo of the little girl's fashion look on his Instagram account, resulting in many fans praising him for picking an age-appropriate outfit. One wrote: "Love it, dressed like a little girl should be dressed," while another added: "You always dress Blue age-appropriate and I love it." Others couldn't believe just how grown-up Blue looked, with many commenting on how tall she is getting.

Manuel has been employed by Beyoncé's company since 2009, and prior to working with Blue, he was one of Beyoncé's personal assistants. He has a close relationship with the little girl, and paid tribute to her on her birthday in January. He took to Instagram to share a lovely photo of the eight-year-old, which had been taken during a Christmas photoshoot, and wrote: "Seeing you grow has been like watching the Blue skies pass by, so beautiful – Manuel A. Mendez. Happy 8th birthday. I love you."

Blue enjoyed a day out with her famous parents

Blue is certainly growing up quickly, and was last pictured on New Year's Eve at a party she attended with her famous mum and US rapper Megan Thee Stallion, who shared photos of the trio from the night on Instagram. In the pictures, the little girl looked incredibly grown up dressed in a sparkly black dress, and had her hair straightened for the special occasion. Fans were quick to comment on the photo, with one writing: "Blue Ivy is growing up so fast," while another added: "Look at Blue, she's a mini Bey!" A third added: "Blue is literally the perfect mix of both her parents."

There is no doubt that Beyoncé is a doting mum, and the star gave an insight into her family life during a rare television interview with Good Morning America last year. She said: "Being a mother, my family is my biggest priority. It's not many films that the parents can come and feel the way I feel about The Lion King, and feel that and pass that legacy onto their kids." She also opened up about her surprise at finding out she was expecting twins in her Homecoming documentary in April, which reflected on her headlining Coachella. The Formation singer said: "I was supposed to do Coachella the year prior, but I got pregnant unexpectedly. And it ended up being twins which was even more of a surprise to me."

Blue Ivy has made several public appearances with her parents, including at red carpet events and glitzy award ceremonies. She even featured in Beyoncé's music video for her single, Spirit. The twins, meanwhile, are still too young, as Jay-Z recently explained to Prince Harry while on the red carpet at The Lion King premiere in London. When the royal asked where they were, he replied: "They are not here. They don't come on every trip. We left them at home."

Blue Ivy, Beyoncé, and Jay-Z Stole the Show at The 2020 Super Bowl - Showbiz Cheat Sheet

Posted: 05 Feb 2020 01:41 PM PST

There might've been two teams on the field, but at the 2020 Super Bowl, there was one family in our heart — the Carters. Decked out in their football-game best, Blue Ivy, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé made an appearance at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. Of course, fans on the internet went crazy, sharing their love for these chart-topping artists. Here are some fan reactions to Blue Ivy's best moments.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z seem to steal the show wherever they go. (The couple made an appearance at the Golden Globes, even bringing their own champagne.) Throw Blue Ivy in the mix, and you have a recipe for internet success.

On Feb. 2, 2020, Beyoncé shared some pictures of the family at the Super Bowl, The Lion King voice actress decked out in a green suit, Jay-Z dressed in black and gold, and their daughter, Blue Ivy in a red top and black skirt. The twins, Rumi and Sir Carter, presumably stayed at home, as there were no pictures of these kids at the Super Bowl.

Some fans took to social media, sharing their love for Blue Ivy Carter

Before the game started, Blue Ivy and Jay-Z headed down to the turf, taking pictures and throwing a football around. Later, when Demi Lovato sang the national anthem, someone snapped a video of Blue Ivy, who was recording the moment.

Once the NFL shared a video clip of Blue Ivy at the Super Bowl, she became one of the top trending topics on Twitter. Most of the reactions were from Beyoncé and Jay-Z fans, sharing their love for the Carters' oldest daughter.

"Okay but Blue Ivy is getting so big and I'm not ready. Time is really just flying," one Twitter user said.

"Can't wait to tell my kids about when Blue Ivy won the SuperBowl all by herself," another Twitter user joked.

"JAY-Z did that. This pic is fire, but let's give credit to the mastermind behind this iconic photo. Blue Ivy," wrote another Twitter user, sharing the picture of Blue Ivy jumping. However, some football fans were less than enthusiastic when Beyoncé and Jay-Z remained seated during the national anthem.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z raised a few eyebrows when they didn't stand for the national anthem

When Demi Lovato sang the national anthem, this family chose the stay seated. This is similar to the political statement popularized by football player, Colin Kaepernick, who frequently took a knee during the anthem.

This instance also became a trending topic on Twitter. Some supported Beyoncé and Jay-Z's choice, while others called it disrespectful. One Twitter user said, "There was backlash when Kaepernick kneeled during the Anthem, and now Beyonce and Jay-Z. Thing is, there's too much information on this matter for people not to understand why African Americans are disinterested in standing during the Anthem."

"Beyonce and Jay-Z remain seated during National Anthem… That disrespect aside – she has sung the national anthem and performed two halftime shows, yet she couldn't find it in her to support Lovato who suffered through many struggles," another Twitter user wrote. The Carters have yet to comment on the criticism.

One of the first songs featuring Blue Ivy, "Brown Skin Girl," is available on Spotify, Tidal, Apple Music, and most major streaming platforms.
